PHED MD/CEO Dr Benson Uwheru Flags-off Int’l Customer Service Week

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution (MD/CEO PHED) Dr Benson Uwheru, yesterday flagged off the International Customer Service Week at the Company’s Headquarters in Port Harcourt.

Themed ‘Service Excellence,’ this year’s Customer Service Week, which aligns with the PHED Value Statement; ‘We are a Team that works with Reliability and Integrity towards providing Quality Customer Service with Excellence,’ is aimed at improving customers satisfaction and loyalty within the PHED franchise area.

The celebrations which began across all regions of the company on Monday, October 3, 2022, had the MD/CEO, his Chiefs and HoDs presenting PHED Branded gifts to no less than 5 customers in each of the PHED offices after the flag-off ceremony.

Also the Regional Heads, Regional Customer Care Managers, Customer Care Managers, Network Managers, Senior Commercial Officers and Customer Care Officers presented different categories of gifts to customers of the company.

While addressing staff during the flag-off ceremony in the company’s Headquarters, the MD/CEO who was also in Bayesla State for the celebration, emphasised that Customer Service is the life-line of every business and as staff of PHED, customer service is a business philosophy because we live for and by our customers’ satisfaction and success.

He is quoted as saying, “Our customers are the reason we are in business and our commitment towards the success of their business is positively correlated to our own success as well as the growth of the nation. This year’s customer service celebration is a call to become more to our customers.” Dr Uwheru said.

Commending the MD/CEO for the supportive role he played to celebrate the Customers’ Service week, the Head Customer Service, Angella Ajere, stressed that customer service should not be left in the hands of the customer service department alone but should be a collective effort from all staff to make the desired difference.

Other events planned for the week include:
MD/CEO’s Luncheon with outstanding MD Customers, Meeter and greeter activities where customers would receive welcoming handshakes and gifts from executives of the company, visits to primary school pupils within the PHED franchise area with PHED branded items, regional and departmental quiz challenge, Facebook live chats with customers, Internal Customers Cultural Attire Competition, to mention a few.
