The newly elected chapter members of the Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEC) at the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution (PHED) Plc paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of PHED, Dr. Benson Uwheru and presented him with an Award.
The team was led to the Corporate Headquarters of the company by Comrade Lord Douglas, the Deputy General Secretary, South-South and South-East. Comrade Douglas introduced the PHED chapter executives who will pilot the affairs of the union at every region in the company.
The Deputy General Secretary told the MD/CEO that the elected members will ensure that Employee-Union-related issues will not be treated with kid gloves but will ensure that every issue is handled to foster and promote a healthy work environment and encourage performance and productivity in the company.
He also disclosed that the leadership of the union will continue to rally around staff members to reciprocate Management’s gesture by ensuring they are committed to sustaining and exceeding the successes recorded so far in the Company since the MD/CEO assumed office.
Comrade Douglas applauded the positive impact of the leadership style of Dr. Benson Uwheru in creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere that has spurred staff to demonstrate their ability and commitment to the prosperity of the company.
In recognition of the positive impact, he has made since he assumed office and the promising signs of turning around the company, the union conferred an award of Exceptional Performance on Dr. Benson Uwheru and declared their support for him.
